We won?!?

My pal John Fontana, editor-in-chief at Raw Charge.com sent me this text message a few minutes ago: "You won!" He was referring to CBS Tampa's Most Valuable Blogger Awards, the results of which I wasn't expecting until tomorrow. After determining that he wasn't screwing with me (hey, you never know) I immediately...had no idea what to do or say. I still don't. I've never won a popularity contest before and find myself completely unequipped to deal with it. Sure, I hoped to win something and campaigned for it but never thought anything positive would actually come of it. It's funnier when people lose, isn't it? But the results are out and this blog won both the People's Choice and Editor's Choice awards in the Dining and Entertainment category.

I think the only thing I can, and should, do is to express my sincere appreciation to each and every one of you who voted. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I also appreciate those readers who didn't vote...only a little bit less than those who did. So in that case; thank you, thank you!
Also, thank you for voting for my friends and fellow winners (there's a statement I've never typed before) Catherine Durkin-Robinson ("Out in Left Field") and Dawn Morgan ("Tampa Do Gooder") who swept their respective categories too, and deservedly so.
